Veronika Scott said, “most of the time product design is about fast, pretty, shiny, sexy things.” Her design class project focused instead on making a coat for the homeless that can also serve as a sleeping bag. The project turned into a business that now employs formerly homeless people and Scott has become the youngest person to receive a New Frontier Award from the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.
