Each March we are part of the thousands of thought leaders, tech enthusiasts and music lovers that take over Austin, Texas for almost two weeks for the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festival. Chevy doesn’t just show up and plaster our logos around town; we strive to be a part of the experience. Whether it is providing a free “Catch a Chevy” ride across town in a new Chevy Cruze or Malibu, helping out that empty smartphone battery in our “recharge lounge” or hosting expert panels and celebrations at the “Chevrolet Tweet House,” our goal is to help attendees have a great week while connecting them with our vehicles and services.
In 2014, Chevrolet is returning as a super sponsor of the nine-day international festival of music, film and interactive programming.
With panels and speaker sessions happening across the city over the span of nine-days, there is something for everyone. Programming is selected through a multi-stage process of public voting and input from SXSW advisors and staff. It is a competitive competition with more than 3000 proposals submitted and Chevrolet needs your help.
For 2014, Chevy has submitted four speaker and panel proposals for potential inclusion and one mentor session:
- The Future of Driving (and You Don’t Need a Flying Car)
- Odd Couples: Startups and Fortune 10’s
- Developing Apps for the Largest Mobile Device
- Know Your Customers – From Stalker to Soulmate
- Mentor session: GM’s Mary Henige on Making and Keeping Friends
You can show support for Chevy at SXSW by voting on the SXSW PanelPicker website. There’s only a couple days left to cast your vote and voting only takes a few minutes. No doubt, there are many worthy sessions to choose from, but we wanted to make you aware of Chevy’s offerings because we have some good stories to share.
Public voting for the panels is open until this Friday, Sept. 6 at 11:59 p.m. CT, and all you need to do is register at the SXSW PanelPicker website with your name, email and a password. Next, click on the links below to give the panels a thumbs up:
