The 2013 Cadillac XTS is the latest automotive affirmation of the indelible link between the lyrical and the practical – and the latest striking example of Cadillac’s Art & Science design philosophy.
The new XTS delivers signature Cadillac space, elegance and dramatic presence. Positioned directly above the centerpiece CTS family, XTS features a 300 horsepower 3.6L direct injection engine and advanced all-wheel drive system.
This marks a shift to more-efficient performance a sedan of its class and size – XTS has four more inches of rear legroom than the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and about two more inches than the Audi A6.
But XTS’ hardware and spatial dimensions are only the foundational layers, supporting a new level of surface detail. Multidimensional exterior and interior elements, including the grille, headlamps and new use of accent lighting, coalesce to give the XTS a presence and attention to detail unlike any Cadillac that has come before it.
XTS also features the new CUE infotainment system, the highly customizable user interface that exemplifies XTS’ blend of advanced technology and artistic design. The heart of CUE (Cadillac User Experience) is the standard eight-inch “center stack” screen from which users can control up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, along with navigation tools, weather maps, radio and text messages, and emails.
XTS’ takes safety further with a “control and alert” strategy. Available visual, audible and tactile warning features like Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, automatic braking and Adaptive Cruise Control help notify drivers of potential crash situations, and can even intervene when necessary.
Inside and out, in ways both readily apparent and covert, the XTS’ is a perfect marriage of design and technology which recognizes that the driving experience is of primary importance. Multilayered details, authentic materials and unprecedented connectivity combine in XTS, redefining American luxury for a new global generation.
